Google Search Ads for Service-Based Businesses

About this project

This project focused on setting up a Google Search Ads campaign to help a service-based business reach potential customers who were actively searching for its services. Unlike campaigns that primarily build awareness, search advertising can connect a business with users who already demonstrate interest through their search queries.

The campaign planning process included researching relevant keywords, identifying search intent, organizing ad groups, and preparing clear advertising copy. Negative keywords could be added to reduce irrelevant traffic and improve the relevance of incoming clicks.

The campaign structure was planned around the business’s services, target locations, and available advertising budget. Ad copy highlighted relevant service benefits and encouraged users to contact the business, request a quotation, or visit the appropriate landing page.

Conversion tracking was also considered so that meaningful actions could be measured where the necessary tracking setup was available.

After launch, search terms, click-through rates, cost per click, conversion rates, and cost per conversion could be reviewed to identify optimization opportunities.

The goal was to create a measurable search advertising foundation that supports lead generation while allowing future improvements based on campaign performance and actual business outcomes.
